Joan M. Bittenbender, 91, of Wind Gap, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2021, in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 10, 1929 in Wind Gap, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Rustine) Bonser.

Joan was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, class of 1947. She was employed as an LPN at Easton Hospital and later worked at Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she retired after 13 years of service.

She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post #724 in Wind Gap.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and always looked forward to their visits. She will be deeply missed by her children, Desiree Barlieb of Wind Gap, Scott Walck and his wife JoAnn of ME, Zane Walck and his wife Marilyn of Wind Gap, Dodie Palmisano of Palmer Township, Mark Hutchinson and his wife Debbie of IL., and Cindy Behler and her husband Rick of Wind Gap; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Along with her parents, Joan was predeceased by her brother Joel Bonser.

Services and burial will be held privately with the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap.
