JoAnne Koehler Flowers, 85 of Nazareth, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Gracedale. Born March 3, 1933 in Nazareth, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Irene Gum Engler. She and her husband Raymond A. were married for 15 years last September.
JoAnne was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1950. She worked for many years with the family business, Koehler's Pharmacy. After retiring, she worked part-time for the Nazareth Key, and volunteered for over 31 years at Gracedale. She was an avid tennis player for most of her life.
JoAnne was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth, where she was a choir member for all of those years. She was a singer and soloist with the St. Luke's Singers for many years, and sang for numerous weddings and funerals. She also served as a past president of the Junior Women's Club of Nazareth.
In addition to her beloved husband Ray, JoAnne is survived by son, David P. Koehler and wife Beth Knickerbocker of Williams Twp; daughter, Cynthia Woodward and husband Richard of San Diego, CA; stepson, Raymond "Skip" Flowers Jr. and wife Mary Beth of Bushkill Twp; stepdaughter, Sandy Blayle and husband Richard of Lower Nazareth Twp; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" D'Angiolillo of Bethlehem; and grandchildren, Aaron and Amanda Koehler, and Dustin and Joshua Woodward. She was predeceased by brothers, Paul Engler, and Emery Engler Jr.
Friends are invited to a calling on Monday, March 26, from 10 to 11 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth. A memorial service will begin at 11 am in the church. An inurnment service will follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Columbarium. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, schmidtfuneralhomepc.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the St. John's Lutheran Church Choir.
