John Hendershot, 83, of Pen Argyl, passed away on February 4, 2021 at his residence. He was the devoted husband of Virginia Keefer Hendershot; together they celebrated 64 years of marriage in January.

Born December 28, 1937 in Delabole, he was a son of the late Alfred and Iva Geake Hendershot.

John started working in the slate industry at age 14 and after many years of hard work and dedication, he retired as a maintenance supervisor for Dally Slate Quarry.

Along with his wife Virginia, John is survived by his grandson, Ryan and his girlfriend Alyssa; step-grandson Brent and his wife Bonnie; great-grandchildren, Christofer, Abigail, Cole and Carter; and son-in-law, Robert "Butch" Tittle. He was predeceased by his daughter, Connie Tittle in 2020, and his son, Fred Hendershot in 1988.

Private services and burial will be held with the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap.
