John J. McCarthy, 83, of Wind Gap, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Gracedale. Born: November 22, 1930 in New York, he was a son of the late John J. and Gertrude Grinnon McCarthy. Personal: John served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Macon. He attended St. Francis Prep School and later worked for the Parks Department while living in New York. Survivors: He is survived by one brother, Robert McCarthy and his wife Mary of Bethlehem, and their children. He was predeceased by one sister. Services: Funeral Services with military honors will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Linden St., Bethlehem.
