Josephine S. Fehnel, 99, formerly of Belfast, passed away on December 25, 2015 at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Coopersburg. She was the wife of the late Russell Fehnel who died in September, 1996; together they shared 45 years of marriage.

Born August 20, 1916 in Meckesville, she was a daughter of the late Robert D. and Flora Eckley Bond.

Josephine worked as a sewing machine operator in various garment factories in the area, including Bangor Hosiery, Stroudsburg Hosiery, Donna Lee, and Valerie Fashions, from where she retired in 1979.

Josephine is survived by two brothers, 1 sister and nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents and husband, Russell, she was predeceased by 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 31, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Cherie Swink officiating. Burial will follow at Arndt's Cemetery, Easton.
