Joyce Ann Halamar, 78, of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania and formerly of Quakertown, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, passed away on May 11, 2023 in the home of her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, Michael Richard Halamar, Jennifer, Brielle, Isabella, and Coralette.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Lavinia (Hollinger) Walker. She was married for 51 years to Richard Michael Halamar who passed away on December 21, 2019.

Joyce earned her Associate's Degree and then started her career in Retail Sales working as a Manager at Sears and then later Goodwill.  She retired from the Lehigh County Court House. She was a social butterfly and made many lifelong friends wherever she went.

She loved watching her grandchildren play in the backyard, going to their lacrosse games, and spending time with her family, especially nightly dinners. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and spending time relaxing on her deck and was a friendly face to all the neighbors. She always loved talking to people and touched many people's lives with her smile and joy.

Joyce always found robins as a sign of her late mother's presence in her life, and we will look to find robins as a sign that she is watching over us as well.

We have been blessed with the presence of Joyce in our lives and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her son, Michael Richard Halamar (Jennifer Schauer) and daughter, Kimberly Ann (Halamar) McLaughlin (Gregg). She was a loving and gentle grandmom to her five grandchildren, Brielle, Isabella, Coralette, Jack, and Anabel. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia C. (Walker-McDonald) Verdi.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Walker.

Services will be private with the family.  Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap. Charitable donations may be made in memory of Joyce to the Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Fire Company, heroes who risk their lives to save others.
