Julia J. Altemose, 91, of Downingtown, PA passed away on September 23, 2018 at Sunrise of Paoli. Born July 25, 1927 in Pen Argyl, she was the daughter of Harold Reimert and Olive Eden Reimert. She was the loving wife of the late Paul A. Altemose.

Julia graduated from Pen Argyl High School and Churchman Business School. She was a long time member of the Lutheran Church and Eastern Star. Julia, along with her husband Paul "Dutch", purchased the Schmidt Home in Wind Gap in 1968 and changed the name to the Altemose Funeral Home. They owned and operated the funeral home until 1974, when they sold the home to Paul's cousin Dale Schmidt, and the name reverted back to the Schmidt Home.

Julia is survived by her daughter Dee Sim and husband Patrick of Phoenixville, PA; and son, Bret Altemose and wife Joan of Jacksonville, FL. Julia was also blessed with four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Reimert.
