Karen F. Frye, 83, a resident of Ann’s Choice Senior Living, Warminster, died on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was the wife of William G. Frye, Jr.

Born in Easton, PA, Karen was the daughter of Theodore and Eva (Bartholomew) Frace. A graduate of Wilson High School, East Stroudsburg State College, and the French School of Middlebury, Vermont, she taught French in the Easton School District during the 1960’s. She retired as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Bath Drug, Bath, PA, where she worked for 18 years.

In the 70’s and 80’s, she had been a very active member of Salem UCC Church, Moorestown, PA, where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. Always interested in music, she was a member of Bethlehem’s Saint Luke’s Singers for 17 years. At Ann’s Choice, she played violin in the Second Time Around Band and sang with the ACT III chorus.

Karen loved horses and took riding lessons at Parkwood Stable through her high school and college years, until she could afford her own horse. During her first marriage, she bred salt and pepper Giant Schnauzers and wrote a column for the breed newsletter, called “Dear Andra,” which was recognized by the Dog Writers Association of America in 1985.

Before COVID, she enjoyed being a DJ, calling herself “Calamity Karen” at WDVR-FM in Sergeantsville, NJ, for 7 years.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Bill Frye; daughters Lara Palmer, Nashville, TN, and Liza Palmer, Macungie, PA; grandson Joe Welborn, Nashville, TN; sister, Elaine O’Brien, Easton, PA; and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Roland Frace.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, July 3rd at Arndt’s Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Rd., Easton, PA 18040, with funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
