Katherine E. "Kitty" Benner, 73, of Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Alexandria Manor in Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Dalvin D. Benner, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2002. Born July 12, 1942 in Wilson Boro, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Eleanor Eck Haag. Kitty graduated from Wilson High School with the Class of 1960. She worked as a secretary for Laros Printing, and later for the Schmidt Funeral Home from where she retired. Earlier in life she bowled in leagues at Town & Country Lanes in Bethlehem and BarDon Lanes in Easton. Kitty enjoyed being a grandmother and was adored by her three granddaughters. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She was a former member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, where she was a volunteer and served on the Stewardship Committee. Kitty was a loving mother to her daughter, Deborah Raymond and her husband Albert of Forks Township, and a loving grandmother to Abigail, Hannah and Paige. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Haag and his wife Joyce of Martins Creek, and Ronald Haag and his wife Akiko of Rockland, CA. Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, November 14, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. A funeral service will begin at 11 am in the funeral home, with Deacon Robert Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton.
