Kathleen A. Stieger, 84, of Easton, passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, February 8, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Oscar "Ozzie" Stieger with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born May 16, 1931, in London, England, she was a daughter of the late William Hope Prince and Veronica Peterman Townsend.
Kathleen worked as a laboratory technician for Thomas J. Lipton Company, from where she took an early retirement in 1991 after 27 years of service. She also worked for several years as a literacy tutor for Project of Easton.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Tatamy.
In addition to her husband, Kathleen is survived by 3 stepchildren, Betty Lynn Spellerberg and her husband Craig, Donna Jacobs and her daughter Tonia, and Bruce Stieger, his wife Amanda, and their children Christopher, Anthony and Autumn. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Carol Waller, Julia Clarke and Mary Barret, all of England, and Annie Pritchard of Easton; several nieces and nephews, Susan Labuda, her husband Greg, and their children Nicholas, Nathan, Jessica and Neil; Albert Pritchard, Jr. and his children Michael and Andrew; Lorraine Fisher, her husband Elliott and their son Brett; Carol Pintande, her husband Joseph and their children, Joseph, Rachelle, Justin and Cialey; Meg Lilly, her husband Jack and their children Daniel, Christopher, Ian and Elizabeth; and Michelle Pritchard and her children David and Laticia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two children, Lyn and Michael, and a sister Stella Leggatt.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere Street, Nazareth. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathleen's memory may be offered to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton, PA, 18042, or to St. Luke's Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
