Obituary

Kirk D. Burley, 74, of Bushkill Township, passed away late Sunday evening, May 4, 2025 in St Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of Veronica (Stasiak) Burley.  Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Born June 11,1950, in Fountain Hill, he was the son of Yolanda "Susie" (Ambrose) Burley of Nazareth and the late Donald Burley.

Kirk was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1968. He worked for the Nazareth Area School District as an inventory manager, prior to his retirement in 2005.

Kirk was a local legend in Nazareth, PA—an artist, storyteller, and friend to all. His passion for collecting Native American artifacts began in his youth, when he could often be found walking the fields of Nazareth and the surrounding countryside, uncovering pieces of the past. Kirk's love for history and the outdoors was matched only by his creative spirit. He painted an iconic VW bus, crafted community art, and designed his own Christmas cards, which became cherished keepsakes for family and friends. A gifted storyteller, Kirk could captivate anyone with his tales. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and important, creating unforgettable memories along the way. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who carry a story or a smile because of him. Kirk's legacy of art, connection, and community will live on in every corner of Nazareth he touched.

Along with his wife Veronica and mother Yolanda, Kirk is survived by 2 sons, Ian Burley and his wife Allison and their children Denver and Adeline and Julian Burley and his wife Stacy as well as his sister Jane Acker and her husband James.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kirk's memory may be made to the "Blue Eagle Foundation", to benefit the Nazareth High School Art Department, and sent directly to Nazareth High School, 501 East Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064 . Arrangements are entrusted to the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
