Larry Carl Carte, 77, of Wind Gap, passed away March 27, 2021 at Slate Belt Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  He was the devoted husband of Mary Lou (Johnson) Carte with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage on March 22.

Born January 2, 1944 in West Virginia, he was a son of the late Carl and Charlotte Carte.

He enjoyed fishing, watching classic movies and being a father and grandfather to his two daughters, son, and four grandchildren.

Along with his wife Mary Lou, Larry is survived by his two daughters, Priscilla Allen of Nazareth, and Mary Ellen Whistler and her husband Matthew of Pen Argyl; his son, Matthew Cate of Valier, PA; granddaughter, Ashley; and three grandsons, Cameron, Carter and Colton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10 am at Faith Alive Community Church in Wind Gap.  Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Faith Alive Community Church, Missions Account, 10 E. Mechanic St., Wind Gap, PA 18091.  Donations will fund mission efforts in the Dominican Republic.
