Larry L. Dewalt, 82, of Forks Township, passed away peacefully Saturday November 16, 2024 in Wind Gap at the home of his daughter. Born November 2, 1942, on the family farm in Forks Township, he was a son of the late George Asher and Violet (Starner) Dewalt.

Larry, a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1961, was the owner/operator of Stag's Radiator Shop, in Easton, until retirement. Later he was employed by Anchor Concrete.

Known for being thrifty, Larry became expert at keeping and fixing things. Recognized as a very selfless person, he was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends alike. He was a "handyman who had it all!" His talent for making something out of nothing brought great amusement and created a lot of memories to all who knew and loved him. He was part of a very large, close and extended family that spent much time on the road camping, going places and generally having a lot of fun. The numerous stories that one can tell of their time with Larry always ends with a good feeling and a smile.

Growing up on the family farm, Larry enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and was a proud member of the NRA. Socially, he was a member of the former BPOE – Elks Lodge in Easton, and the Safety First Club of West Easton. Through the years, he was an active lifetime member of the Forks Volunteer Fire Company, an organization his father helped organize when Larry was a young boy. He was also a lifetime member of Forks United Church of Christ where he had served on the property committee.

Larry's legacy of helping others and of valuing family bonds, will be sustained through his daughters, Susan McCollian, and Sheri Burda (Rodney), and son Zachery Dewalt (Dana Rehl); grandchildren, Shelby and Shannon McCollian, Ashleigh Gaul (Hunter Crouse), Gavin Gaul, Braiden Rehl, Julianna Neely and Keagan Dewalt; 1 great grandchild, Elias Crouse; sisters, Joan Mumaw and Lois Stewart and brother, Randy Dewalt; step-children, Mike, Stephen, Tracy and CJ Hitzel. He was predeceased by a daughter Stacey Lynn, brothers Wayne and Glenwood Dewalt, his 1st wife, Rosemarie Dewalt, 2nd wife, Antoinette Dewalt and his girlfriend of many years, Carol Venema.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Thursday, November 21, from 6-8pm and Friday, November 22, from 10-11am in Forks United Church of Christ, 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown. Funeral services will begin Friday morning at 11:00 a.m., in the church, with Rev. Laura Oesterle presiding. Interment will follow in Forks Cemetery. As a special tribute for his dedication and service to the Forks Volunteer Fire Company, a funeral procession from the church to the grave will be escorted by a fire engine.
