Leonard L. Bender, of Plainfield Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 77, in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. Born on March 7, 1948, in Easton, he was a son of the late Raymond B. Sr. and Grace I. (Rasely) Bender.

A graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1966, Len demonstrated early on that he was a person of many talents and tenacity. He was an active participant in a variety of sports, including football, baseball, and track, showcasing not only his athletic abilities but also his commitment to teamwork and personal growth.

Len went on to a work career that spanned several industries including Ingersoll Rand Corporation and James River. Later, he served the Easton Area School District as a dedicated bus driver, until his retirement.

Beyond employment, Len was a man of diverse interests. In his younger days, he continued to enjoy baseball by playing in a local adult league. However, his true passion lay in the great outdoors; Len was an avid hunter and fisherman. He often reminisced about his most memorable hunting trip to Quebec, where he ventured in pursuit of moose, an adventure that was emblematic of his love for nature.

A hardworking and caring person, Len was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His selfless nature was also evident in his love for animals. Throughout his life, Len was often surrounded by beloved pets, including many cats, dogs, and horses, which he cared for with great affection. He extended his love of equines further as a skilled farrier, tending to the horses of others as a cherished side hobby.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Hager Bender, who stood by his side through the many seasons of life; 3 nephews, 1 niece and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Raymond "Ben" Bender Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services being held, Monday, November 10, at 10 am, in the Easton Cemetery, 401 N. 7th St., Easton, PA.
