Leroy J. Berger, 84, of Wind Gap (Bushkill Township), passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence.  He was the husband of Charlotte Rissmiller Berger, together they shared 26 years of marriage.

BORN: April 5, 1933, in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Wilbert S. and Alma James Berger.

PERSONAL: Leroy proudly served with the Air Force during the Korean War.  Later he found employment as a welder and a millwright with the Essroc Cement Co. for 45 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed repairing and working on cars, loved country music, fishing and the company of his dogs.

MEMBERSHIPS: Leroy was a member of the United Cement Lime and Gypsum Union, VFW Post #739 in Bangor, and the East Lawn Social Club.

SURVIVORS: In addition to his wife Charlotte, Leroy is survived by 2 sons, Richard and his wife Bonnie of Wind Gap and Gregory and his wife Kim of Syndersville; 1 daughter, Cynthia Kelleher and her fiance Christopher Chapman of Nazareth; 4 step-daughters, Kelly Dennis and Tammy Rose both of Wind Gap, Sheila Rose of Nazareth and Joy Rose of Easton; 1 brother, Wilmer Berger of Pen Argyl; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by daughter Debra Frazier and sister Arlene Gildner.

SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 pm on Wednesday, June 28, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St., Wind Gap. A funeral service will begin at 6 pm in the funeral home.  Private burial will be held at a later date.
