Lester A. Thomas Jr., 89, of Nazareth, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital- Hecktown Oaks.  He was the husband of Marilyn Diehl Thomas who passed away in 2020.  Together they shared 64 years of marriage.

Born June 23, 1934 in Nazareth, he was a son of the late Lester A. and Ellen Siegfried Thomas.

Lester worked at the Lone Star Cement Company, retiring as a custodian in 1989.  He was a loving father and grandfather who lived his life through his family. He seldom missed their sporting events and activities and with his outgoing nature, could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. He was a member of Valleyview Baptist Church in Northampton and a die hard N Y Yankees fan.

Lester is survived by 1 daughter, Debra Giacalone and husband Paul of Bethlehem; 3 sons , Ray and wife MaryAnn of Nazareth, Kirk and wife Becky of Nazareth and Daniel and wife Heather of Pen Argyl; 7 grandchildren Amanda Palys and husband Tim, Brandon Konawalik, Melissa Savy and husband Conrad, Scott Thomas and wife Della, Kate DiTrani and husband Bobby, Kevin McKelvy and wife Katie, Lindsay Thomas and Tyler Thomas; 7 great grandchildren ; 1 brother Russell Thomas and 2 sisters Leona Russoli and Donna DeReinzi.

Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by 3 brothers; Kenny Thomas, Douglas Thomas and Gary Thomas and 2 sisters; Sandra Schmidt and Shirley Suranofsky

Relatives and friends are invited to the Schmidt Funeral Home PC on Tuesday, January 23 where a viewing will be held from 10-11 am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lester's name, may be sent to Valleyview Baptist Church, 2870 Pheasant Drive, Northampton, PA 18067.
