Linda Mae
Macdonald
Dec 29, 1943 — Apr 3, 2023
Bushkill Twp.
It is with heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Linda Mae MacDonald, 79, of Bushkill Township to Pancreatic Cancer.
Linda was born and raised by her mother, Doris Hoadley, in Stockertown, Pa., where she met and married her husband of 64 years, Bruce MacDonald. They had three boys together; Michael, Thomas, and Patrick who were the light of her life and whom she spoke of often.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Bruce, and her mother, Doris Hoadley. She is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife Amelita of Las Vegas, Thomas and his wife Lisa of Nazareth and Patrick and his wife Lisa of Danielsville; Grandson Tyler MacDonald and fiancé Liz Achterman; Great-Grandchildren Sophia, Rosalie, and Everly.
Linda was a nurse's aide at Gracedale for 30 years. No medal was awarded that was worn more proudly than the nametag she wore on her uniform. After retirement she maintained her friendship with several colleagues which were some of her closest, most cherished friends.
Linda was an avid fan of Nazareth High School Sports, along with her husband. They went to every football and wrestling match, as she was one of their biggest supporters.
Linda was devoted to her family and it was evident at her "open House" Christmas. Each year there was a different Christmas tree, never repeated for 63 years. The two that stand out most were: A Christmas tree that displayed family members baby pictures. The one who guessed the most correctly was awarded a prize. Another memorable tree was the tree she hung upside down, which she called "Living in an Upside-Down World". The thought and creativity to do something different every year was amazing. Even more amazing was the fact that when she had taken down the decorations, she took them to Gracedale to display the following year.
Linda's wishes of no service or viewing will be honored. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Ste 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
The above mentioned ask that you do not weep for the passing of Linda, but instead smile at the memories you shared. If you still feel compelled to cry, then cry for those that never met her because they missed a truly remarkable soul.
