Lois M. (Jones) Houck, 78, of Nazareth passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her residence. BORN: September 21, 1934 in Nazareth, she was a daughter of the late Verna and Virgil Jones. Lois was the wife of George E. Houck, together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. PERSONAL: After graduating from Nazareth High School, Lois was employed in various capacities, prior to the birth of her daughter. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was especially proud of her grandchildren, Alex and Jordan. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a lifetime, devoted member and volunteer at Grace Lutheran Church in Belfast. SURVIVORS: Along with her beloved husband George, Lois is survived by her loving daughter Cheryl, son in-law Richard; cherished grandchildren, Alex and Jordan; sister, Janet Rice and three brothers, Gerald, Bruce and Jake; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 5907 Sullivan Trail, Belfast with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Butz presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday in the church and 10:00 -11:00 am Monday in the church. Burial will follow in Belfast Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
