Lorraine VanWhy Meckler, 94, a devoted wife and loving mother to all 4 of her children, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 in Patillas, Puerto Rico. She was born on September 20th, 1930, in Minisink Hills, East Stroudsburg, PA.

Lorraine was happily married for 50 years to her loving partner, Carl Meckler, who passed away at the age of 79 on September 14th, 2010. For many years, she was employed by the former Rosetta Sportswear, in Belfast, PA until retirement. However, most notably at home, Lorraine was a fantastic cook! Her fridge would always be packed with some of her well known and prepared dishes including; a jar of pickled eggs, roast beef, and Paprikash Chicken.

The last few years Lorraine spent time living in Puerto Rico under the loving care of her son Richard A. Foley and daughter-in-law, MaryJane Foley. She thoroughly enjoyed island living and interacting with all the animals on their property. During her idle hours, she enjoyed catching up on some of her favorite tv shows like Andy Griffin, Hazel, Leave it to Beaver, and Columbo.

In addition to her son Richard and daughter-inlaw MaryJane, she is survived and lovingly remembered by 6 grandchildren, Beverly, Christine, Cassandra, Carla, Dean, and Rocky; 9 beautiful great-grandchildren; and her last surviving sibling, a sister, Naomi Robins.

She was predeceased by her children, Rita Serfass, Nona Foley and Edward Foley; a grandson, Allen Serfass; a sister, Myrtle Makosky and brother, Richard VanWhy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services, on Friday, April 4th at 12:00pm in Forks Cemetery, Stockertown, PA. Immediately following services, a continued time of remembrance and celebration will be held at 221 E. Burke Street Easton, PA.
