Marie J. Gutierrez, 88, of Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2019 in her home.

Born June 15, 1931 in Sussex , NJ, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Rose Smith Oliver.

Marie worked for the Nazareth YMCA as a cleaning lady, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed watching TV, especially game shows and her favorite soap operas as well as word search puzzles.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth.

She is survived by children, Rose Utter of Gillett, PA, James E. Utter and his wife Margaret of Bangor, Mary J. Fleck and Joseph C. Gutierrez both of Nazareth; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. Marie was predeceased by her 1st husband, James D. Utter and also her 2nd husband, Joseph L. Gutierezze; 2 grandchildren, Larry Utter and Laura Utter; sister Anna Fehr; and brothers Joe Oliver and James Oliver.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 9-10 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, with a prayer service to follow at 10 am. Marie will be laid to rest in Layton Cemetery, Sandyston Twp., NJ.
