Mary A. Frantz Correll, 87, formerly of Kesslersville, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 in Slate Belt Health and Rehabilitation Center, Bangor.  Born in Kunkeltown on August 25, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Joyce Engler Frantz. She was married to the Carl A. Correll for 52 years prior to his passing on December 19, 2000.

During her life, Mary was a very active and civic minded person.  Although she was a homemaker and raised 5 children she devoted time to community activities she felt passionate about.  Mary was a founding member of the Planning Board of the Slate Belt Nursing Center and a Charter member of the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  When at home she enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and baking.  Mary also liked to watch television and communicate with her numerous friends and family through phone conversations.  She was a member of Forks United Church of Christ for over 55 years and was known by all within the church community.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Sharen Correll of Pen Argyl; three sons, Dennis Correll of Cresco, Michael Correll and his wife Paula of Pen Argyl, and Brian Kirt Correll of San Diego, CA; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Silliman of VA; nine grandchildren, Kristina, Kimberly, John-Patrick, Carly, Joshua, Jesse, Ashley, Mikey and Justin; three great-grandchildren, Keelin, Sam and Piper.  In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by one son, Kail Correll; two brothers, Silas Frantz and David Frantz and three sisters, Sarah Frantz, Carolyn Zellner and Clara Rudy.

Friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, June 2, from 9:30-11 am in Forks U.C.C., 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown, PA 18083.  A funeral service will follow in the church, at 11am, with Pastor Bob Gutekunst presiding.  Mary will be laid to rest in Forks Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be offered to the church.
