Mary A. Frey, 97, of Tatamy, died peacefully on June 11, 2017.

Born February 22, 1920 in Easton, she was the firstborn of 12 children to the late Martin and Antoinette (Ambrose) Cortez of Nazareth. She was the wife of Richard J. Frey for 56 years until his death in 1993.

Mary lived in Tatamy, for 62 years, sometimes making her winter home in Florida. She worked at Binney & Smith, Inc. for 32 years and was a proud member of the 25 Year Club. In her spare time, she and her husband Richard were avid travelers and flea marketers. Mary was very generous, quick witted and independent. But mostly she will just be remembered as "Nana" to her numerous offspring.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra, and her husband Robert Richline of Easton, and sons Jeffery D. Frey of Easton, and Timothy J. Frey and wife Mary L. of Nazareth, and son-in- law, Hale Lichtenwalner of Nazareth; 3 sisters, Matilda Kolb of Nazareth, Nellie Mengel of Nazareth, Margaret La Toure of Georgia, and 1 brother, Martin Cortez Jr. of Nazareth; she also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charmaine K. Lichtenwalner, and a son, Richard J. Frey, Jr.; sisters Mamie Piedro, Helen Swope, Virginia Kulp, Dolores Cortez, and brothers, Carmen Cortez, Russell Cortez and Frank Cortez.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 14, from 9-10 a.m. at the

Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. A funeral service will begin
at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery,
Nazareth.
