Matilda (Hilda) A. Kolb, 88, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023, at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth. Born on February 27, 1935, in Fountain Hill, Matilda was a beloved daughter of the late Martin and Antoinette Ambrose Cortez. Matilda's life was one of love, dedication, and service, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Matilda was the devoted wife of Martin L. Kolb, with whom she celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing on March 27, 2006. She was a loving mother to her son, Mark A. Kolb and his wife Pam, and daughter, Donna J. Bucko and her husband Michael. Matilda was a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Antoinette Ambrose Cortez, as well as her sisters, Mamie Pietro, Helen Swope, Mary Frey, Virginia Kulp, Margaret LaToure, Nellie Mengel, Dolores Cortez, and brothers, Russell, Carmen, Frank, and Martin Cortez Jr.

Throughout her life, Matilda was a dedicated homemaker, providing a warm and loving environment for her family. She was a lifelong resident of Nazareth, where she was an active member of St. John's UCC.

Matilda was an excellent cook and baker, known for sharing her delicious kitchen treats with friends and family.

Services for Matilda will be private, and arrangements have been entrusted to the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Memorial contributions, in Matilda's name, may be sent to St. John's UCC, 183 South Broad St., Nazareth PA, 18064.
