Matthew G. Werkheiser,51, of Plainfield Township, formerly of Nazareth, passed away on July 11, 2023 in St Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.  He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline "Jacqi" Lee-Werkheiser.  Together they celebrated 23 years of marriage.

Born September 28, 1971 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, he was the youngest of 6 children born to the late Kenneth and Louise Edwards Werkheiser. Matthew was a graduate of Nazareth High School and attended East Stroudsburg University.  He was employed as an insurance broker for AARP.

Matthew was a dedicated family man who always looked forward to new adventures with his wife and children.  He loved to travel, logging in many trips across the US and abroad.  He introduced his children to different countries and their customs, especially enjoying the local fare.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth and when his children were young, he took an active part in their scouting activities.

Along with his wife Jacqi, Matthew is survived by his 3 children; Evan Shen-Jin Werkheiser, Sophie Sha-Yan Werkheiser, and Nolan Tian-Jin Werkheiser; aunts Maryellen Werkheiser and Nancy Werkheiser; 5 siblings and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, July 15 from 9-10:30 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 410 West Center Street, Nazareth.
