Maynard S. Beal, 97, formerly of Wind Gap, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. Born on November 29, 1927, in Chapman Quarries, he was the only child of the late Samuel and Florence Shupp Beal. He was the loving husband of Ruth (Smickley) Beal who passed away on August 17, 2015.

Maynard's life was a testament to his strength, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to his family and country.

A graduate of Pen Argyl High School, Class of 1945, Maynard honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII. After his military service, Maynard earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College. His remarkable ability to balance a full-time job, night classes, and family responsibilities showcased his exceptional work ethic and determination. He was employed by the Fuller Co., where he retired after 25 years of dedicated service.

His devotion to his faith and community was evident in his active participation at Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap. As a deacon and member of the consistory, Maynard's guidance and wisdom were invaluable. His commitment to serving others extended to his involvement with the Wind Gap Park Board, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being and enjoyment of his fellow citizens.

He was a guiding light to his children, Susan Reduzzi (David) of Annapolis MD, Matthew Beal (Pamela) of Nazareth, and Aimee Chido (John Jr.) of Newark DE. His role as a grandfather was one he embraced with joy and pride, leaving a lasting impact on his grandchildren David Scott Reduzzi (Elana), Danielle Brown (Micah), Ranae Luppold (Eric), Josiah Beal (fiancée Kelly), and John Chido III. The legacy of his gentle guidance will live on through his great-grandchildren David Barrett, Ryan James, Aubrey, Arianna, Calvin, Lydia, Everett, Thaddeus, and Owen. Along with his parents and wife Ruth, Maynard was predeceased by his grandson Stephen Reduzzi.

His life was one of purpose, love, and service, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, October 4 from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap where the service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will follow at Wind Gap Cemetery.
