Melissa "Missy" Handelong, age 43, of Wind Gap, lost a courageous nine month battle with cancer on September 22, 2014, with her loving husband Steven and Aunt Kelly by her side. BORN: She was born on January 20, 1971 in Easton, a daughter of Michael McWilliams and Marguerite Adams. PERSONAL: Missy was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School and worked as a body sander for Martin Guitar for the past 17 years. SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband, Steven J. Handelong, with whom she celebrated 14 years of marriage on September 2; one brother, Michael McWilliams; one sister, Manda McWilliams and her husband Mike; two nephews, Zane and Freddie; one niece, Becky; two sisters-in-law, Sherri Christman and Denise Nolf; father and mother-in-law, Norman and Pauline Stout, as well as her dog Magik and cat Crystal. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 202 West St., Wind Gap. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Santucci presiding.
