Millard E. Rohrbaugh 85, of Nazareth, passed away on Thursday, February 1st at Muhlenberg Hospital. He and his wife Barbara (Miller) would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on October 2nd this year.
Born in Glen Rock, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Lovey (Bortner) Rohrbaugh. Millard graduated from Codorus Township High School in 1950 and attended Lafayette College. He was employed by Ingersoll-Rand for 10 years and Cooper Industries (Penn Pump) for 30 years, retiring as Plant Facilities Engineer. In retirement, he was a realtor with Century 21, worked for the USPS in Nazareth and Bangor and was a driver for Nazareth Floral Designs.
Millard was an active member of the Plainfield Township Lions Club for 23 years and a recipient of a Melvin Jones fellowship. He assisted in all of the Club's fundraising events and particularly looked forward to working their booth at the Plainfield Township Farmer's Fair.
He loved working in his garden, woodworking, traveling with his wife and meeting new friends. No one he met was ever a stranger for very long.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Nazareth where he served on the Property Committee for many years.
Millard is survived by his daughters Julie Azzalina and Karen Lambert (Brian) of Palmer Township and Janice Baugher (David) of Phoenixville, PA. He is also survived by his step-children John Miller (Monica) of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Margaret Gabel (Jeffrey) and David Miller (Casey Gallagher) of South Whitehall. Millard is survived by seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his beloved orange tabby, Riley. He was preceded in death by a brother, George.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 9, from 9-11 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth, PA 18064. Funeral services will follow at 11 am, in the church. Millard will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Millard's memory to the Property Committee of St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Plainfield Township Lions Club in care of Barry Young, 270 Pinecone Court, Bath, PA 18014.
