Nancy A. Knecht, 67, of Wind Gap, passed away Friday November 28, 2014 in the VNA Hospice House of St Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of Glenn Knecht with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Nancy was born on October 27, 1947 in Easton, a daughter of the late Richard and Fay Vorhees Hoffman. She was employed at various blouse mills in the Slate Belt before retiring. Nancy was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Slate Belt Ladies Bowling Association. Along with her loving husband Glenn, Nancy is survived by one son, Craig of Wind Gap; two daughters, Tracy Klinger and her husband Fred of Roseto and Kim Hothouse and her husband Jay of Albrightsville; three grandchildren, Ashley Riley, Amber Riley and Kevin Riley and six great grandchildren Haley Riley, Jada Twist, Jeffery Twist, Destiny Keller, Sierra Infante and Christian Infante. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Hoffman of Nazareth and three sisters Linda George and her husband Randy of Wind Gap, Carol Fry and her husband Dennis of Nazareth and Barbara Beehrle of Allentown. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday December 3, from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West St Wind Gap. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Wind Gap Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy's memory may be offered to the American Cancer Society (Pancreatic Cancer Research) LV Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
