Nancy A.
Montrom
Jun 6, 1960 — Nov 25, 2024
Nazareth
Nancy A. Montrom, 64, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. Born June 6, 1960, she was a daughter of Lillian Gehr Nehilla and the late James S. Nehilla. She was the beloved wife of Stanley Montrom Jr. with whom she celebrated 37 years of marriage this past June.
Nancy was a graduate of Liberty High School. Described as hard working and resilient, Nancy was employed for local grocery stores, including Giant and Superfresh, where she wore many hats but particularly liked working in the deli. A "mom" to everyone, she was a kind woman who was very supportive to many that she worked with, mentored, or took under her wing. From a young age she was persistent, and determined, often leading the way for her 2 younger sisters. Today they still laugh about Nancy becoming a Brownie and then a Girl Scout - she stuck it out when they dropped out! She was proud of her achievements, in her younger years, this was most evident with playing the violin starting at age 9, to being in the Liberty High orchestra and working her way up to 2nd chair. Later in life, she found enjoyment tending to her flower gardens, reading a Stephen King novel or listening to the music of Prince. And who could forget her love of wearing high heels! She was young at heart and very family oriented. But it is with special memory that those most close to her remember Nancy as a wonderful baker, who loved the holiday season especially listening to the Nutcracker and all types of Christmas music.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Stanley Montrom Jr.; her mother, Lillian Nehilla; son, Stanley Montrom III of Ft. Steward, GA; daughter, Samantha Carden (Danny Jr.) of Ft. Carson, CO; 2 grandchildren, Riley and Danny III Carden; and 2 sisters, Diane Sigley (Gary) and Joanne Nehilla; sister-in-law, Narda Montrom and brother-in-law, Terran Montrom; several nieces and nephews, Megan Shelton, Nadia Brewer, Giuseppe Caruso, Sergio Caruso, & Erik Sigley.
Always remembered as a loving wife and mother, Nancy is still considered "the older sister and the oldest daughter who we love!"
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 30, from 10-11am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory, may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org/memorial
