Nancyann L. Hower, 74, formerly of Nazareth, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 in Maris Grove, Glen Mills. She was the wife of James T. Hower, Sr. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. BORN: Nancyann was born January 24, 1940 in Northampton County, a daughter of the late Elmer and Wilma Bachman James. PERSONAL: Nancyann was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1958, and Trenton State College, where she earned a Bachelors of Elementary Education degree. She also did additional graduate work at Marywood College, Penn State University and Drexel University. Nancyann retired from the Council Rock School District, where she was employed as a librarian and elementary school teacher. She was also employed by the Sol Feinstein Elementary School. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a former member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nazareth where she sang on the choir, as well as a member of the YMCA in Nazareth. SURVIVORS: Along with her beloved husband Jim, Nancyann is survived by one son, James T. Hower Jr. and his wife Sharon of Kennett Square; one daughter, Beth Ann Risch and her husband Kerry of Hudson, OH; one sister, Susan Moyer of McNeal, AZ; and five grandchildren, Steven Risch, Ashley Risch, Matthew Risch, J.T. Hower III, and Jordan Hower. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, P.C., 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, with the Rev. Cindy Muse presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
