Patricia Myers' Obituary
Patricia Myers, 80, of Forks Township, Pennsylvania, passed on September 20, 2017, in Easton, Pennsylvania surrounded by her loved ones.
Patricia was born on August 16, 1937 in Orange, New Jersey. She met the love of her life, Cornelius Odell Myers Jr., on a blind date in Union, New Jersey, and they went on to be married. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Laurie and Edward, in Pittstown, New Jersey. After raising her children, Patricia decided to pursue a career that would allow her to fulfill her compassion and love for people, and she enrolled in nursing school. She became a licensed practical nurse in 1984 and went on to work at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. After the passing of her beloved husband in 2000, Patricia moved to Forks Township, Pennsylvania to be closer to her family. She thrived in her new community as she developed lifelong friendships and became involved with Forks United Church of Christ, Easton Hospital, and her neighborhood committees. Patricia was a very active member of Senior Circle at Easton Hospital for 16 years, and she thoroughly enjoyed all that Senior Circle had to offer, from volunteering at events with her friends to traveling. Patricia also had a strong love for music and she enjoyed singing in her church's choir, attending musicals and plays, and teaching line dancing. She enjoyed card night with her friends, chatting over coffee, and spending time with her family. She always had a smile on her face and she loved to laugh. Patricia had a strong love for people and she made a positive impression on every person that she met. She exuded positive energy and was always there to lend an ear. Patricia was truly adored by all of her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie, of Wind Gap, Pennsylvania and her son, Edward, of Easton, Pennsylvania, as well as her grandchildren, Carly, 25, Ronald, 22, Tanner, 17, and Michael, 27. Her husband, Cornelius, and her parents, Edward and Mary Markwith, predeceased her.
Services will be held at Forks United Church of Christ on Monday, September 25, 2017. Viewing hours will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Patricia will be buried alongside her husband, Cornelius, at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, New Jersey, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at noon. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
