Paul Bergmann, 79, formerly of Belvidere, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, at Alexandria Manor in Nazareth. Paul was born on September 11, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Alvin and Frances (Ginn) Bergmann.

Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he honorably served during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Ranger. Following his service, Paul graduated from college earning a Bachelor and Master's degree in education.  Paul was a longtime resident of Belvidere where he worked at Belvidere Elementary School. During his 30-year tenure as an educator, Paul taught 7th and 8th grade social studies, reading, and civics. When he wasn't teaching, he could be found coaching basketball, baseball, and wrestling for Belvidere middle schoolers.  It was through these activities that Paul found the most joy and has undoubtedly left a mark on the community for generations to come. Upon retirement, Paul enjoyed bowling with his league in New Jersey.

Perhaps the greatest legacy that Paul left was his ability to make and keep people laughing with his quick wit. No one knew this better than his family. Paul is survived by his sons Timothy Bergmann and his wife Dee of Monument, Colorado; Mark Bergmann of Mt. Bethel; Stephen Bergmann and his wife Janeen of Belvidere, New Jersey; his sister Julie Bergmann of Manahawkin, New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
