Pauline R. Stout, 80, of Wind Gap, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the loving wife of Norman (Pete) Stout who passed away on May 27, 2024. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage in February.

Born June 29, 1943, at home, in Saylorsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Van Buskirk) Artz. Pauline was a member of the first graduating class of Pleasant Valley High School. She worked at various blouse mills, including Valerie Fashions, and later enjoyed working at Martin Guitar Co. where she retired in 2005. Pauline was a loving mother and sister. Caring for her family was most important to her and she will be missed by many.

She is survived by son Steven J. Handelong and daughter Denise Nolf both of Wind Gap; stepchildren Norman J "Pete" Stout and wife Donnakay of Wind Gap, Kimberly Wismer of Nazareth, Cheryl Konopaski of Wind Gap and Charlene Pleiss of Forks Township, nine step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren. Eight sisters; Wanda Young and husband Herbert (Butch) of Saylorsburg, Diane Long and husband George of Saylorsburg, Dora Christi and husband Mark of Pocono Summit, Kelly Artz and companion Fred Christman of Saylorsburg, Joan Smith and husband Alan of Stroudsburg, Corinne Ekhart of Mt. Pocono, Helen Hoffner and husband Joe of Saylorsburg, Beatrice Kocher and husband Elwood of Nazareth and brother Eugene Artz and wife Susie of Saylorsburg.

Pauline was predeceased by daughter Sherri Christman; granddaughter Rebecca Christman; daughter-in-law Melissa Handelong; stepdaughter Robin Kilpatrick; step granddaughter Jessica Pleiss; sister Loretta Bogart; and brother Ernest Artz.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap.
