Obituary

Peter C. DiMartino, 81 of Norristown, Pennsylvania is the son of the late Martin DiMartino and late Lillian DiMartino (Cicala) of Norristown, Pa. Peter is survived by two brothers: Benjamin DiMartino of Virginia Beach, VA and Martin DiMartino, Jr. of New York City. Peter is also survived by his ex-wife Carole DiMartino (Fryer) of Holland, Pa and his two sons: Peter J. DiMartino of Holland, PA and Mario B. DiMartino of Nazareth, PA. Peter is also survived by daughter-in-law Lydia DiMartino (wife to Mario) and three grandchildren which are Marissa, Nicholas and Alexander DiMartino all of Nazareth, PA.

Peter proudly served in the U.S. Army during the late 1950's and early 1960's mostly in Korea as a fireman and also as a Colonel's driver. After his honorable discharge, Peter applied for and became the youngest person (at 20 years old) to own an Esso gasoline station franchise. Peter became an award-winning franchise owner and expert auto mechanic until he later sold the business.

Peter continued his mechanic and repair work for the next several decades working with Vincent J. Pastorius and Sons of Norristown, Pa. until his retirement. Anyone who knew Peter will remember him not only as a hard worker, but as an outgoing and gregarious person always willing to help, always willing to repair, and having a penchant for making people laugh. Some of Peter's hobbies/interests were going to Atlantic City, NJ, playing billiards, football (Philadelphia Eagles), studying health and nutritional supplements as well as welding and fabricating. Peter also had a love for travel (including having gone to Italy) and for the peacefulness of the beach. Peter loved his two sons and was very proud of them and would always say "I have the two finest sons you could ask for." There will never be a personality as colorful and free spirited as Peter. He will be greatly missed and loved by many.
