Obituary

Ralph Parlato, 44, of Bushkill Township, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at Penn Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of Lauren (Castagna) Parlato with whom he shared 12 years of marriage.

Born May 25, 1976 in Livingston, NJ he was a son of Ralph and Carol Piro Parlato of Parsippany, NJ.

He was a graduate of Villanova University and worked for Lucent Technologies, now Nokia Corporation, for 22 years. Ralph enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an amazing and loving husband, and a wonderful father to his 2 children whom he adored. Throughout his life, Ralph remained positive but it was his strong belief in always "being kind to others" that most will remember. His heart was huge and the power of his love was felt by all those who knew him. He is missed by many beyond any expression of words.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, in Pen Argyl.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ralph is survived by a daughter, Gabriella and son, Ralph; sisters, Christine Medici and her husband John, and Natalie Sharkey; brother, Michael Parlato and his wife Pamela; 9 nieces and nephews, Mark, Brianna, Veronica, Samuel, Dominic, Brendan, Lorelai, Camryn and Cassidy; brother in-law, Joseph Castagna and his wife Meredith; and his father and mother in-law, Philip and Jennifer Castagna.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Wednesday evening, September 30, from 6-9 pm, in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, only 25 people will be allowed in the visitation room with rotations in place. Face masks and social distancing required at all times. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 1, at 11am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbit Ave., Pen Argyl. There will be no viewing hours on Thursday. Following mass, Ralph will be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery, Nazareth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ralph's name may be offered to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, LLS-Eastern PA, PO Box 22467, New York NY 10087-2467.
