Ray A. Lieberman Sr., 92, of Plainfield Township, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 following a short stay at Gracedale.  He was the husband of Betty Kessler who passed in 1949 and Lucinda Ackerman who passed in 2004.  Born August 9, 1925 in Nazareth, he was a son of the late John H. Sr. and Grace Correll Lieberman.

Ray was a veteran of the US Army serving in Europe during the Korean War.  As a young man he worked on various local farms and became passionate about good farming equipment including International Harvester!  He was employed by George Willauer, driving truck and hauling milk.  He retired following a 30 year career with Green Acres.  Ray loved working with his hands and being outdoors.  He especially enjoyed working in his garden, growing vegetables that he often shared with others.  He was a wonderful father, in addition to being a good friend and neighbor willing to always lend a hand.

He served on the Plainfield Cemetery Board for many years and volunteered his time at Belfast Union Cemetery caring for the grounds.  He was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Wind Gap.

Ray is survived by two sons, Ray Jr. and his wife Donna and David and his wife Pam all of Ormond Beach, FL; one daughter, Shirley Hahn and her husband James of Bushkill Township; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson; sisters, Anna Uhler of Upper Nazareth, Hilda Kocher of Dover, DE; and brother Kenneth of Wind Gap.  In addition to his parents and wives, he was predeceased by his sister Mae Trexler and brothers, Eddie and John Jr.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 15, from 10-11am in Hope UCC, 701 Cherry St., Wind Gap, PA 18091, where services will follow at 11am with Pastor Darlene Blocker officiating.  Ray will be laid to rest in Plainfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation s may be offered to the church.
