Born August 7, 1944, Rebecca "Becky" Ann (Boyd) Brown, 80, was finally freed from her Alzheimer's on November 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Holding her hand was her Parkland High School sweetheart and loving husband of almost 59 years, Michael "Mickey" Brown (Bethlehem, PA). She is also survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Resh (Nazareth, PA), son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marissa Brown (Flemington, NJ), their grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, and Mia, and her brother and sister-in-law Tom and Elaine Boyd (Bent Mountain, VA).

She was met in heaven by her parents, Bill and Rene (Chapin) Boyd, and granddaughter Mikayla. We would like to think they are playing the card game scat/31 reminiscing about time with the Chapin clan at North Lake, PA, and then with the Boyd and Brown families at Smith Mountain Lake, VA, during vacations, and later when she and Mickey retired there in 2000. Becky loved the lake. She would spend all day in her skirted bikini or swim dress on the dock or on the water, on her jet or water ski. Mickey loved pulling her behind their boat. Give Becky a pair of goggles nd she could find anything lost at the bottom of the lake. Always following in her footsteps would be a niece, nephew, grandchild, or one of her beloved pups, Maggie or Molly. She loved kids and dogs, and they loved her.

A graduate of Parkland High School Class of 1962 and the Allentown School of Nursing in 1965, Becky worked as a registered nurse until she and Mickey married and started a family. She loved being a stay-at-home mom, leaving some time to teach preschool and later tennis to children. She also spent many hours sewing and embroidering for herself, and others. Over the holidays, no one made more Christmas cookies than "Gabby," as her grandchildren called her. Originally named by Lauren, her bubbly and loud nature made this the perfect name.

After her Alzheimer's diagnosis, Becky and Mickey moved back to the Lehigh Valley in 2012 to be closer to their children and their families. Thanks to his tireless love and devotion, she was able to remain with Mickey in their home at Traditions of America Hanover Township for seven years, before she needed the care provided in Memory Care, and later Skilled Nursing, at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA. She lived there for more than five years, over which the staff and fellow residents became our extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Morningstar Living Foundation, 175 W. North Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Becky loved Mary Cate's music therapy so any gifts received in her honor will be directed to provide additional music therapy for residents of Moravian Hall Square.

Family and friends are invited to Grace Church Bethlehem, 4301 Hecktown Road, Bethlehem, PA 18020, on December 16, 2024, at 10:00am for a Celebration of Becky's Life, followed by a reception and light refreshments.
