Richard S. Getz Jr., 56, of Moore Township, formerly of Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in his home.
Born January 7, 1964 in Easton, he was the son of Richard S. Getz, Sr. of Nazareth and the late Ruthann Young Getz.

Rich was a graduate of Nazareth High School, class of 1981 where he played baseball and was a member of the stage band. He was employed as a welder for L and M Fabrications, a delivery and salesman for Rosenberger's Dairies and most recently taught guitar lessons from his home and Nazareth Music Center. In addition to being a well-liked teacher, Rich played guitar for several local bands in the Lehigh Valley and excelled in blues and rock and roll. He cherished the times spent with his proudest accomplishment, his son Alex. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed baseball outings with family and friends and, for many years, coached little league baseball in Nazareth.
He was of the Moravian faith.

Along with his father, Rich is survived by his son Alex R. Getz of Exton; his dedicated wife Kris Perna Getz of Fork's Township and his sister, Rebecca Horan and her husband Thomas of Nazareth.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, July 12 from 6-7:30pm and Monday, July 13 from 10-11am in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth. Funeral services will follow at 11am on Monday in the funeral home. COVID-19 restrictions will apply. Rich will be laid to rest in Nazareth Moravian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts will be graciously accepted by the family in care of the Schmidt Funeral Home.
