Richard E. Gower, 47, of Roseto, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Bushkill Township. He was the beloved fiancée of Brenda Flyte, and loving father of Dylan James Gower. Born May 10, 1969, in Fountain Hill, he was the son of Mary Gower Johnson of Wind Gap, and the late Richard Fogel.

Richard graduated from Pen Argyl High School in 1987, and went on to honorably serve his country with the U.S. Army. He worked in the Maintenance Department of Bosch Rexroth Corporation in Bethlehem. An avid outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and skeet shooting, and was very active with Boy Scout Troop No. 36 of Roseto; all activities which he shared with his son. He was a member of the NRA, the Roseto Rod & Gun Club and the Wind Gap American Legion.

In addition to his mother, fiancée and son, Richard is survived by his step-father, Rodney Johnson of Wind Gap; his step-mother, Betty Fogel of Moore Twp.; a step-brother, Leonard Johnson and his wife Nancy of East Stroudsburg; two step-sisters, Catherine Johnson and her companion Mike of Pen Argyl, and Janis Johnson of Bethlehem; and his maternal grandmother, Laura Gower of Washington Twp.

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11 am on Monday, September 26, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West Street, Wind Gap, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Plainfield Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
