Richard A. Mellwig's Obituary
Richard A. "Dick" Mellwig, 84 of Tatamy, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 in St. Luke's Hospice. Born August 13, 1933 in Easton, he was the son of the late Grace Shafer Mellwig and Bernhard Mellwig, stepson to the late Betty Mellwig, and stepbrother to the late David Mellwig.
Richard graduated from Wilson High School in 1951. He served four years in the US Army. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Tatamy. Richard retired from Binney & Smith after 56 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Lichtenwalner Mellwig; two daughters, Robin Kostenbader and husband Marlyn, and Karen Mellwig; and one grandson, Cody; all of Tatamy. Richard is also survived by one sister-in-law, Kathy Mellwig of Easton. Richard and Janet would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 3rd.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 10 am in Hope Lutheran Church, 240 S. 8th Street, Tatamy. Richard will be laid to rest in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, schmidtfuneralhomepc.com.
