Richard (Dick) Rasely, 89, of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Palmer Township, PA, passed away from this life on December 6, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. He is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Born February 3, 1930 in Stockertown, PA, he was the youngest child of the late William & Elizabeth (Minchin) Rasely.

Dick attended school in the Easton Area School District where he was later employed on the maintenance crew. He retired in 1991 from the Career Institute of Technology, formerly Eastern Northampton County Vocational Technical School, where he was the Maintenance Supervisor since 1969.

He was a member of New Covenant Christian Community Church, Bethlehem and also a member of the Northampton County Chapter of PASR.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Unangst Rasely; daughter, Jill Rasely-Timko and son-in-law, Albert Timko Jr. of Mechanicsburg, PA; step-grandchildren, Alison Timko of Carlisle, PA and Alexander Timko of Waynesboro, PA.  Dick was preceded in death by a son Tim Rasely; a grandson, Michael Rasely and six brothers and four sisters.

Dick loved his family and showed it in everything he did. He was a gentle, soft spoken man, who laughed easily and always had a smile. He was a good neighbor and helped others. He did not dwell on hardships but instead always looked for the joy in life. Dick loved Jesus and was filled with faith. His family will greatly miss his unconditional love, his smile and peaceful nature.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 11-12 noon in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth with funeral services to begin at noon. Dick will be laid to rest in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township.
