Robert A. Avery 76, of Pen Argyl, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in Slate Belt Medical Center. BORN: November 6, 1936 in Easton, he was a son of the late Garnet and Mabel Reed Avery. Bob was the husband of Irene Falcone Avery; they would have celebrated 53 years of marriage, on May 21. PERSONAL: Bob honorably served his country in the Army Reserves during peacetime. Before retiring, he worked as a computer programmer for Ingersoll - Rand. Bob was an avid Ham Radio operator and sang with the Brothers in Harmony Barbershop Quartet. MEMBERSHIPS: He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Pen Argyl and the Elk's Club. SURVIVORS: Along with his beloved wife Irene, he is survived by six daughters, Lorraine Lee and her husband David, Laurie Johns and her husband Larry, Lisa Rohaly and her husband Thomas, Linda Bray and her husband Randy, Michelle Brown and Karen Collinge and her husband Shawn; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Lee, Heather and Douglas Johns, Erica and April Smith, Danielle Rohaly, Tara Bray, Jennifer and Benjamin Brown, Brittany, Brayden, and Cameron Collinge; four great grandchildren, MacKenzie Shafer, Kayleigh Henderson, Giavonna Smith and Trey Handelong; in addition to nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister, Darlene Stofflet and her husband Charles. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 11:00am, in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Ave., Pen Argyl with the Rev. Msgr. Vincent P. York officiating. Burial will follow mass at St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10:00-11:00 am, Wednesday, in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap.
