Robert
Casey
Dec 28, 1938 — Aug 30, 2022
Washington Township
Robert Casey, 83, passed away on August 30, 2022 in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Casey.
Born on December 28, 1938 in Dover, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Thomas David Casey and Ethel Beatrice Naters.
Bob was employed by RCA and later UPS. While working at RCA, he met his future wife Elaine. They were married on November 28, 1969 and settled in Bartonsville. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Bob was always active in church, first as a member of Bethel Bible Church then Mt. Eaton Church. He was always willing to share his beautiful baritone voice, whether in solos or choirs, including annual Christmas programs at Slate Belt Nursing and Rebab Center. Bob also participated in Boys Club programs, taking the boys camping and fishing.
While working for UPS, he delivered to a local New Jersey nursing home. The recreational director asked if he knew anyone who would bring a spiritual program to the residents. So began his nursing home ministry with message and song. He was always accompanied by his wife, Elaine, and close friends Gordon and Sue Arthur. The Ministry included Clover Rest Home, Waldon's, Mrs. Bush's and Gracedale. He faithfully brought God's word and music for more than ten years. In his later years, Bob suffered from dementia, but he always had his faith in God to reassure him.
Bob is survived by his wife Elaine; his daughter Elaine and sons Robert and Darren; and 2 grandsons Robert and Stanley. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Thomas and sister Alice.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, October 8 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm in Mt. Eaton Church, 7277 Mt. Eaton Church Road, Saylorsburg, PA 18353. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Reverend Joseph Cain presiding. A meal will be served in Faith Hall, across the parking lot from the church, following the service. Memorials, in Bob's name, may be offered to the Mt. Eaton Playground Fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 202 West St., Wind Gap.
