Obituary

Robert Pacovich, 82, of Wind Gap, PA, passed safely into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Luzinski Pacovich, and together they shared 57 years of marriage. Born August 28, 1933 in Wilson Boro, he was a son of the late Victor and Pauline Giagodich Pacovich. A member of the U.S. Navy, Bob honorably served his country during the Korean War and afterward, aboard the USS Intrepid and the USS Midway. Early on he owned and operated the Exxo and Arco gasoline stations in Wind Gap. He later worked as a salesman for Tommy's and McDonough Tire. Bob was an avid Penn State fan, liked traveling with his wife, and go kart racing with his nephew. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob was a member of Light of the World Church in Minisink Hills where he served as an Usher. He was a former member of the Wind Gap Fire Company and the Blue Eagles Drum Corps. In addition to his loving wife, Jo, Bob is survived by his children, Stephen Pacovich and his wife Diane of Pen Argyl, Christine Pacovich of Wind Gap, Victor Pacovich of Reston, VA, and Angela Markovitz and her husband John of Wake Forest, NC. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Crystal, Charissa, Cassandra, Christopher, Elise, Sierra, Elizabeth, Hannah, Maria, Anthony and John, Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Branch and Millie Bet; and 25 nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers John and Joseph, and sisters Victoria, Mary, Katherine and Emma. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 - 8 pm on Sunday, November 8, and from 10 - 11 am on Monday, November 9, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West Street, Wind Gap. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Angelo Pierri officiating. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
