Robert J. Pados 76, of Wind Gap, passed away Thursday, July 8 th , 2021, in Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Marian Roberts Pados, together they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
Born June 26, 1945, in Phillipsburg NJ he was a son of the late Edward and Ada Winters Pados. Bob was a graduate of Easton Area High School class of 1963 where he excelled in football and wrestling. He attended Trinidad College in Trinidad, CO, on a football scholarship where he majored in history. After college, Bob honorably served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve during the Vietnam War. Later he ran as a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in 1977. Bob began his career in law enforcement with the Forks Township Police Department and retired as Chief of Police for the Borough of Tatamy, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He also co-owned Ed and Bob's gun shop, on Bushkill Drive, in Forks Township. He was a member of FOP, the NRA, the 2 nd Amendment Foundation and F&AM, Lodge#152, Easton and attended Faith Family Fellowship Church in Bushkill Township.
In his spare time Bob enjoyed listening to music of the 1960's including the Blues, Karaoke and dancing to the oldies. He followed sports and car racing; along with his father and uncle owned a modified car that ran in various dirt track events. He had many interests and was an all-around kind of guy, striking up friendships with many people. He especially loved going places and traveling with his wife and coaching his granddaughter's softball team.
Bob will be lovingly missed by his wife Marian; daughter, Stephanie Anderson and her husband Daniel; grandchildren, Amanda and Mitchell Anderson, and Gavin Lynch; 1 sister, Barbara Willett and husband August and nephew Edward and family; 2 brothers and their families. Bob was also survived by his dear and very close friends, Tracy and Doug Schlegel and their children who are like family.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, July 14 from 6-8pm and Thursday, July 15 from 10-11 am in the Schmidt Funeral Home 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, PA 18064. Funeral services, with Pastor Bob Hampton, presiding, will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the funeral home. Bob will be laid to rest with Military Honors, in Wind Gap Cemetery, Plainfield Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in c/o of the funeral home.
