Robert E. Trimble Jr., 79 of Forks Township, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at his residence with his wife by his side. Together they endured a courageous 3 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was the husband of Dawn Frace with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage. Born August 28, 1940 in Easton, he was the son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Mary Mills Trimble.

He spent the early part of his life growing up on South Side Easton. During these formative years, he was taught the importance of faith, loyalty and friendship while family and life's lessons further instilled the value of both hard work and humility. For those who knew him, these were prevailing attributes demonstrated throughout his life. He always carried a positive attitude and an overwhelming desire to help others. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he will be greatly missed by so many who counted on him and truly loved him.

Bob was a proud member of the 1958 "first graduating" class of Notre Dame High School, Green Pond. During 1963-1965, he honorably served his country as an MP with the US Army. He worked for the former Falk's Food Basket, Regal Paper Company in Milford, NJ for 13 years and, for a short time, owned the former Posey Peddler Flower Shop. For 30 years he, along with his wife Dawn, owned and operated the College Hill Tavern until their retirement in 2003. Up until his illness, he worked part-time at Morgan Hill Golf Course and Schmidt Funeral Home.

He liked to remain active and was generous with his time. Bob was a former member and past President of the Easton Exchange Club, elected as a State District Director, named Exchangite of the Year (at local and state levels) for his contributions and exemplary leadership and was honored with the Golden Deeds award. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 9 in Palmer Township as well as a member of Fork's United Church of Christ serving as an Elder, Deacon and member of the Stewardship and Finance committees. Over the years as an advocate of the church, his efforts were instrumental in the success of the annual Ice Cream festivals.

Bob was an avid flower gardener who also enjoyed traveling, fishing, taking motorcycle trips, and attending car shows with his 1936 Ford pick-up truck. Bob really loved golfing and a good Manhattan once in a while! He didn't appreciate the cold climate of the Northeast and was happy to spend the winter months at his home in Southwest Florida. For many years he spent countless hours boating on Lake Wallenpaupack often with his nephew Gregory by his side as his boating buddy/first mate. He truly treasured his time spent with family and friends, the importance of which never escaped him.

In addition to his wife Dawn, Bob is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Shoup of Hatboro, PA; 5 sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews with whom he shared a very special bond as "Uncle Bob"; and countless friends.

Due to public health concerns, a viewing and funeral service, with burial in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, will be private. A public Memorial Service, in celebration of Bob's life, will be announced at a later date.
