Robert R. Yundzel, 92, of Lower Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 4, 2019. Born August 21, 1927, in Bloomfield NJ, he was the son of the late Helen Pulaski and Zigmont Yundzel.
He was predeceased by his wife, and love of his life, Edna Hornstra Yundzel in 1996.
He taught woodshop in a few different school districts, for 45 years the last school being Irvington High School, in Irvington NJ prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed building model airplanes, reading, especially history and most of all spending time with his great grandchildren. Bob loved to have a good time and often planned and hosted parties for his friends and family. He had the biggest heart. It didn't matter who you were Bob always made everyone feel loved and welcomed, especially in his kitchen at 5:45 for "salad time" followed by dinner at 6:00 sharp every night.
Bob will be missed by his grandchildren; Kimberly Goerlich and her husband David Jr., Cynthia Joskowiak and her husband Robert and Charles Mitchell Jr. and his wife Lori, and great grandchildren; Kathryn, Alex, Colemann, Carly, Christian, Adelle, Devon and Kyra, in addition to the numerous friends whose lives he touched, most of all his good friend and lunch buddy Greg Prehodka.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St. Nazareth, with a time of remembrance to follow at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 380 Clifton Ave., Clifton, NJ. Bob will be laid to rest in East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
