Roderick J. Russell, 82, of Nazareth, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2022 in his home.  He was the loving husband of Elizabeth Roxanne (Stephens) Russell.  Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Born May 19, 1940 in Malone, New York, he was a son of the late John F. and Hazel (Lamica) Russell.

Rod served in the US Army during peacetime and later worked in the chemical industry as a forklift operator, retiring after 44 years of service.  He enjoyed trips to the casino and socializing with his neighbors. He was the "go to" guy in his community and would always lend a hand to anyone in need.

Along with his wife Roxanne, Rod is survived by 1 son John Russell and his wife Jill and 1 daughter Jeanmarie White; grandchildren Nicholas and Justin Fox and Jonathan and Jessica Russell;  great grandchildren Mila, Justin Jr., Riley and Emara; 1 brother Wayne Russell and his wife Jackie; and 2 sisters Lynda Lomay and Larraine Mulverhill.

Along with his parents, Rod was predeceased by his brother Richard Russell and sister Jane Raville.

Services will be private.  Arrangements are under the care of the Schmidt Funeral Home PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth.
