Rodney K. Fogel, 70, of Moore Township, formerly of Nazareth, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 23, 2017 in the Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.  He was the husband of Sandra Voight Fogel with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born June 5, 1947, in Fountain Hill, he was the only child of the late Kermit and Emma Herman Fogel.

Rod was a graduate of Nazareth High School, 1965, and Kutztown University, 1969.  He was a Elementary school Art teacher for the Nazareth Area School District, for 36 years, prior to his retirement in 2006.  He enjoyed a successful career as a Junior and Senior High School boys basketball coach for Nazareth.  He was also a former head coach of mens basketball for Northampton Community College.  A talented artist, Rod's work was prominently displayed throughout the community as well as various art shows.  His passion for athletics was evident through his love of fly fishing, bowling, and golfing of which he exceled.  Hobbies included tying flies and tending his vegetable garden.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth.

In addition to his wife Sandra he is survived by Sandra's daughter, Nicole; his loving aunts, Helen Follweiler and Hattie Rissmiller; 5 cousins, Glenn Rissmiller and his wife Joan, Linda Breznac and her husband Joe, Cynthia Singer and her husband Jeremy, Mary Ellen Erdie and her husband Matthew and Jane Follweiler.

Private services will be held in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Nazareth.
