Romaine Hatesaul, a woman of faith and kindness, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023, at Asbury Chandler Estates in Pen Argyl. Born on March 13, 1929, in Flicksville, Romaine lived a long and fulfilling life of 94 years.

Romaine was one of five children born to the late Stanley and Ruth E. (Albert) Teel. She found her life partner in Edward Hatesaul, to whom she was a devoted wife for 41 years until his passing in 1999. Romaine will forever be remembered and missed by her loving children: son Chris of Tioga County, daughter Kim DeLuca (Everett) of Bethlehem, and son Steven (Shelley) of Pen Argyl. She was a dear sister to Marion Gilbert of Saylorsburg, Grace Stocker of Pen Argyl, Gerald Teel (Marlene) of Pen Argyl, and Elwood Teel (Lee Ann) of Bangor. Romaine was a doting grandmother "Oma," to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of the Slate Belt region, Romaine was a proud alumna of Bangor High School and for many years, worked as a sewing machine operator for various garment factories in the area. Romaine was a hard working woman, balancing her work and home life, always ensuring that her children had a warm, safe, and loving home. She was known for her kindness towards children and animals, and always had a "song in her heart". Romaine always found joy in the simplicities of life such as gardening and household chores.

Faith was a cornerstone of her life, beginning with her childhood membership in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pen Argyl. She was an active participant in the Lutheran Church Women's Auxiliary (LCWA) as well as being a Sunday School teacher. Later, Romaine was a dedicated member of the Faith Alive Community Church in Wind Gap where she continued being a Sunday School teacher for decades. And year after year, with tireless effort, made significant contributions to the church's Operation Christmas Child initiative. She was also an active member for many years of the Women's Aglow fellowship along with volunteering countless hours for the Plainfield Farmers Fair alongside her husband, Ed.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 30, from 10:30-11:30 am, at Faith Alive Community Church, 10 East Mechanic St., Wind Gap, PA 18091 where a memorial service will follow starting at 11:30. Burial in Plainfield Cemetery will be private with the family.
